Consignment FAQ
Everything you need to know about consigning your sports cards with Rated Rips — from shipping and rates to payouts, grading, and what we accept.
Shipping & Submission
How to pack and ship to Rated Rips?
It is recommended to send all cards in sleeves and top loaders. We suggest packing in team bags if possible. Use a box or secure padded envelope. Sleeve and top-load all cards prior to shipping to ensure they are properly protected.
Can I have another source send cards on my behalf?
Yes! Please make sure the package includes your FULL NAME and EMAIL so we can identify the cards as yours.
How do I know when my package was received?
Once your package arrives, you’ll receive a confirmation email within 24 hours. This email will confirm receipt of your submission, include an image of your package, and outline the next steps in the consignment process.
If any items in your submission are intended for our Express Service, please reply to this confirmation email indicating that express items are included. This ensures they are flagged and prioritized correctly from the moment your package is checked in.
Consignment Eligibility
What is acceptable for consignment?
- All modern (Post 1980) trading cards with an estimated value of $5.00+.
- Anything with an estimated value of $5.00+ will be listed for auction on eBay with a starting bid of $1.99.
- If a listed card sells for a final price under $5.00, a 55% payout rate will apply.
- Both raw and graded cards are acceptable.
- Should you have any other items you are looking to consign, please reach out to us!
What happens to cards sent in that do not meet the listing criteria?
Should we receive cards that do NOT meet our criteria (i.e. under $5.00), they will NOT be posted and kept in-house with ownership transferred to Rated Rips.
Listing & Auction Details
What format is used to list items?
- All cards are listed as 7-day auctions beginning at $1.99 and are sold exclusively through our eBay storefront, leveraging one of the largest and most competitive marketplaces in the hobby to drive strong bidding activity.
- All auctions are scheduled to end nightly between 7:00PM – 11:00PM EST.
- If you would like to consign a card using a Buy It Now (BIN) format, please contact us prior to mailing your submission. A minimum estimated value of $1,000 or greater is required for BIN consideration. We offer two BIN options for approved items:
- Standard BIN Option – $5.00 per card – The consignor provides the desired listing price and specifies the minimum offer amount to be considered.
- Premium BIN Option – $25.00 per card – Rated Rips conducts market analysis and determines the optimal listing price and minimum offer threshold based on current comps and market trends.
What are your listing fees?
Listing fees will apply as follows:
- $1.00 – Single Cards, Memorabilia & Other Non-trading Card Items
- $3.00 – Lots – If you would like items sold as a lot, please group them together prior to shipping and clearly indicate that you want them listed as a lot.
- Listing fees only apply to items that are SOLD. If an item goes UNSOLD, a listing fee will NOT apply.
What is the express service level and how does pricing work?
The express service level is an optional expedited processing option that moves your cards through our workflow ahead of standard submissions. Items sold under the express service level include a $3.00 per-card fee, applied in addition to our standard listing fees. Express service is completely optional and may be selected for individual cards within a submission. If you’d like certain cards processed through express service, please separate them from standard submission items and notify us prior to mailing your submission.
Turnaround begins the first business day following the date of receipt. For example, if your package is received on Monday, the 2–3 business day window begins on Tuesday. Business days are defined as Monday through Friday, excluding major holidays.
How do I view my listings?
Once your items are scheduled, we’ll automatically send you a Google Sheets link that lists all of your consigned items along with their corresponding eBay auction links. Please note that the links will not be active before the auction begins or after it has ended — but you’ll be able to track your items in real time while they’re live.
Coming Soon in 2026 — We’re currently developing a client portal that will give consignors real-time visibility into their submission status and eBay listings — scheduled, current, and ended — with updates every step of the way.
Selling on Goldin Auctions
What is Goldin and why sell there?
Goldin is one of the most prestigious auction houses in the hobby, specializing in high-value trading cards and collectibles. Because of their affluent buyer base and competitive bidding environment, consignors can net more than the actual final sale price — making it an ideal platform for your most valuable cards.
What items qualify for Goldin consignment?
All items submitted for Goldin must be slabbed or encased graded by a recognized grading company. Cards must have an estimated value of $2,500 or greater to qualify.
What are the payout rates for Goldin sales?
Goldin payouts are tiered based on final sale price and exceed 100% — meaning you net more than the hammer price. See our rates table for a full breakdown, with payouts scaling up to 110%.
How does a payout over 100% work?
Goldin charges buyers a premium on top of the final hammer price. Rated Rips passes a portion of that buyer’s premium back to you, which is how your payout can exceed the final sale price of your card.
When will I get paid for a Goldin sale?
Goldin operates on auction cycles rather than continuous listings. Payouts follow our standard monthly schedule — once your item sells and payment is received from Goldin, your payout will be processed in the first week of the following month.
How do I submit cards for Goldin consignment?
Reach out to us before shipping any items intended for Goldin. Given the minimum value requirements and condition standards, we want to confirm eligibility before your cards are sent in. Contact us at mikeferg@ratedrips.com.
Can I submit raw cards for Goldin?
Raw cards may be submitted to Goldin only if they are factory encased. All other raw, cards are not eligible for Goldin consignment.
What are the turnaround times for Goldin consignment?
Turnaround times for Goldin submissions can vary and are dependent on which auction your items are submitted for. Goldin offers several auction types. See below for a few examples:
- Weekly Auctions — Regular auctions running on a weekly cycle for qualifying items. 9 day auctions starting on Tuesdays and ending on Thursdays.
- TCG Weekly Auctions — Weekly auctions specifically for Trading Card Games (e.g. Pokémon, Magic, etc.). 9 day auctions starting on Wednesdays and ending on Sundays.
- Elite Auctions — Held monthly, featuring higher-profile cards and a more competitive bidding environment. Auctions held over the course of 20 days or more.
- Category-Specific Auctions — Themed auctions targeting specific sports or collectible categories.
- Goldin 100 — The most prestigious and coveted auction format, reserved for the hobby’s most significant cards. Full month long auction.
We’ll work with you to determine which auction is the best fit for your items and set expectations on timing accordingly.
Payouts & Payments
What payout options are available?
- Zelle
- PayPal
- Venmo

NO PAYOUT FEES CURRENTLY APPLY!
When will I get my payout?
We process payouts for all items sold and paid for once a month during the first week of the following month. For example, if your items sell and get paid for in January, you’ll receive your consignment report and payout in the first week of February.
Post-Sale & Returns
What happens if an item sold for me gets returned?
If an item is returned to us the net amount will be deducted from what you are owed. We will then re-list the card to make another sale!
What happens to my unpaid items?
We allow eBay buyers 7 days for payment. After 7 days we will cancel the auction and re-list the item.
What happens to my cards that do not sell?
Items that end with no bids will be kept in-house and ownership transferred to Rated Rips.
Rules & Policies
Can I place a bid on my own items once they are listed on eBay?
No. This is strictly prohibited. Bidding on your own listings is considered shill bidding and is not allowed under any circumstances. Engaging in this behavior violates eBay policy and can lead to serious consequences for your account.
